We've all been there, we've seen the dark lips on the runway, on the red carpet, on random hot chicks on tumblr. Yet, we don't want to spend money buying a whole new lipstick that we'll only once 3 times, and only for our tumblr photos!
Luckily, we have a cheap solution.
You will need:
- Red lipstick (I'm using Lady in Red by Revlon)
- Brown or purple (dark colours are better) eyeshadow, shimmery or matte (I'll be using a matte, dark brown)
- A lip liner brush (you can get them for a euro/dollar/pound at the local supermarket)
- A nude lipstick or lip balm (I'm using a nude shade by Rimmel)
Here's what you do:
- Scrape some of your chosen eyeshadow onto a plate, or other hard surface that won't be ruined by lipstick
- Dip your brush into the bullet of the red lipstick
- Dip it into your eyeshadow, and try out different amounts of eyeshadow on to the back of your hand until you get the desired colour for your lips
- Now, once you have that, begin lining your lips with the colour. Note: you will have to keep on dipping your brush in the lipstick and eyeshadow. I did mine just over my natural lip line, but this can look messy so it's up to you.
- Once you have your line, repeat this process, filling in your lips until they are approximately the shade you want. Don't worry if they're a bit splodgy at this stage.
- Dip your brush (no need to clean it) into your nude lipstick, or your lip balm, and pile a ton on your brush. Now begin blending the colour on your lips.
- Repeat until colour is uniform and smooth.
- Apply lip gloss if you wish.
Now, unfortunately, since it is the cheap method, it will not last very long so either you will need to re-apply it every so often, or merely put it on for photos.
